Dr. Pierre Coant joined Advocare Gloucester County Pediatrics in 1991, after completing his fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine with a certification from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He earned his doctoral degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, now a part of Drexel University, and performed his pediatric residency at Cooper Medical Center. He later received further training at Children's Hospital of Buffalo.

Dr. Coant has been certified in pediatrics since 1986 by the American Board of Pediatrics and continues to maintain his certification. He is a pediatrician on staff at The Children's Regional Hospital/Cooper University Medical Center, and an active pediatrician at Underwood-Memorial Hospital, where he served as vice chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Grand Rounds coordinator from 1994 to 2001.

From 2004 to 2005 Dr. Coant was president of the Gloucester County Medical Society. He is presently co-chairman of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics government affairs committee, and is involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative, and the March of Dimes. Dr. Coant has published articles in peer review journals including Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Care, as well as textbooks on pediatrics. New Jersey Monthly and South Jersey Magazine have each recognized Dr. Coant as a "Top Doc." He and his wife have two children.
